The SU Cart
Specification Sheet
The cart consists of two modules stacked
one on the other:
They are bolted together through the side
frames by plastic star knob, bolts & nuts.
The frame
construction is of 25mm (1 inch) square aluminium tube.
This
design allows you to separate the two modules for travelling in the
back of a station wagon or four-wheel drive, with the
equipment staying on the cart and in an upright position.
The bottom module is welded together. The
top module bolts together.
Standard wheels are:
Twenty inch (505mm) purpose built, side mount,
spoked wheels - aluminium alloy, premium fat tyres.
Front
castors, 100mm (4inch).
Included are 4 roller wheels on top
module. - To facilitate ease of placement into
vehicle separately
***The
extreme external wheel width, is no more than 700mm (27 ½
inches).
Dimensions:
The main frame
external measurements are 600mm (23 ½ inches) deep and 540mm (21 ¼
inches) wide.
There are two height
variations (difference only in top
module)
Bottom module height including
wheels 650mm (25 ½ ")
Top module-low - height
580mm (22 ¾ ") - Full cart height 1 meter 230mm (48 ½ inches)
overall.
Top module-high - height 650mm (25 ½ ") - Full
cart height 1 meter 300mm (51 ¼ inches)
overall.
Rack Strip;
Is attached to the
inside of the frame, where possible and accommodates most standard
rack
mounted equipment or
hardware.
Weight:
Nominal at around 32 kilograms (70
pounds).
Painting:
Powder coated a charcoal grey metallic.
There are now 2
versions. - The original called series 1 and a newcomer called
series 2
Essentially the changes are in the layout of
the bottom modules.

Top module
standard Shelving :
Half shelf
330mm (13”) deep.
Full shelf 575mm (22 ½ ") deep.
Mixer
shelf, forward sliding, is
frame mounted in full section - external measurements - 463mm
(18¼”) wide, 560mm (22") deep
and 30mm (1¼ ”) high. (drawer material is 2mm thick)
With
screw locks to hold in closed position.
An
option here may be to have rack strips for a rack mounted sliding
shelf.
An
Optional extra in the top module is a side exit, slide out laptop
shelf.
This is mounted under the top full
shelf .
It has a screw lock to hold it in the closed
position.
Dimensions are 500mm wide (19 ¾”); but it only extends
430mm (17”). Its 430mm (17”) deep,
with a height of 40mm (1
½”).
Top Module standard Racking:
Front
half shelf area - 6ru in both high & low version
Front full
shelf area – Usually none. But if requested 6ru
in higher version,
5ru in
lower version.
Rear full area – 13ru in higher
version, 11ru in lower version.
SERIES
1
Bottom
module standard Shelving:
Full
shelf 575mm (22 ½ ") F to B. -
Positioned higher
up.
Below this
is an open fronted storage box, 475mm (18¾") wide,550mm (21 ¾”) deep
with a height of 85 mm (3½ ”).
This has a detachable panel
mounted across the front on the rack strips. An
optional extra in the bottom module is a slide out
drawer.
This is mounted permanently under the full
shelf, at the time of construction and with the
sliders
attached to the side frame. It has a lockable mini
turn handle.
Dimensions are 460mm (18”) wide, 500mm (19 ¾”) deep
and 100mm (4”) high.
Bottom Module standard Racking:
Front area - 10ru.
Front
area with drawer option – 2ru. above shelf, 5ru below shelf.
Rear
area – 5ru.
SERIES
2
Bottom module
standard Shelving: Full shelf 575mm (22
½ ") F to B. - Positioned about the
middle.
Below
this is an open fronted storage box, 475mm (18¾") wide,550mm (21 ¾”)
deep with a height of 85 mm (3½ ”).
This has a detachable
panel mounted across the front on the rack strips.
An Optional extra in
the bottom module is a side exit, slide out laptop shelf.
This is mounted up,
above the bottom full shelf.
It has a screw lock to hold it
in the closed position.
Dimensions are 500mm
wide (19 ¾”) – but it only extends 430mm (17"). Its 470
mm (18 ½”) deep
with a height of 30mm
(1¼ ”).
Bottom Module standard Racking:
Front area - 4ru above full
shelf and 4ru below shelf.
Rear area – 4ru above shelf.
Laptop shelf compromises racking.
Compact versions
of Series 1 & 2 are also available - with a front to back
(DEPTH) measurement
of 500mm (19
¾”) instead of
600mm (23 ½ inches).
For the 500mm
versions all the
front to back (DEPTH) measurements are reduced by 100mm (4")
.
With the low top this makes for a cart only slightly larger than a VK
cart, but with rack strip options.
Accessories:
Optional accessories
are; Hooks, antenna/boom boxes, antenna/boom holders, coffee cup
holders.
There are facilities for these on the cart, with
positions on rear and sides.
A
bicycle pump & repair kit along with a 6mm Allan key are
supplied free.
